Project 1: Matisse Inspired Name Collage

We had a great experience with our first project of the year!  6th Grade students learned about the amazing collages of Henri Matisse and explored how he used scissors as a tool for creativity.   Henri Matisse inspired the 6th grade classes to create their name with shape and color representing their personality.  Students applied these unique designs to letters in their names to represent who they are.  6th graders created a sketch of the overall design and then transformed ideas in to reality.  Great first project 6th grade!
